A first-ever online symposium called Tradition in the Future. Endeavouring to make connections and transference of traditional Chinese music, featuring presentations by international speakers and musical performances by the ensemble’s professional musicians.
A Tale of Pipa
The project will mark the first ever collaboration between the Vancouver Chinese Music Ensemble and the Vashaan Ensemble which specializes in Persian music, and will feature renowned pipa performer Ling Yang and legendary singer Lili Lau
Jasmine Meets Sakura
This cross-cultural collaboration featured beautiful melodies from Japan and China, as two great choirs joined with the Vancouver Chinese Music Ensemble for Jasmine Meets Sakura.
This concert brings together Vancouver’s two music scenes. The unusual interplay between traditional Chinese and jazz instruments (led by jazz banjo) makes Jasmine Jazz a special musical experience
