Echoes of Peace: Chinese Music Concert in Vancouver

📍 Location: Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden

📅 Date & Time: May 24, 2026, 2:00 PM

🎼 Featuring: Erhu, Guzheng, Pipa, Suona, Ukulele, Vocals

Held at the beautiful Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden in Chinatown, Echoes of Peace celebrates Asian Heritage Month in Vancouver and highlights traditional Chinese music in an intimate cultural setting.

Step into something rare this spring, a moment shaped by music and a reflection on living in peacefulness. The Vancouver Chinese Music Ensemble brings traditional Chinese instruments to life with guest artist and award-winning Canadian folk musician Ginalina. Together, they will be performing contemporary arrangements of old folk songs that feel both timeless and new.

Echoes of Peace is more than a concert. It is a gentle escape. Familiar folk melodies unfold in new ways, gently exploring themes of connection, identity, and belonging. There is a softness to it, something grounding, something that stays with you through shared human experience.

Set inside the quiet beauty of the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, the experience is intimate and grounding. Music moves with the water, the trees, and the air around you.

Come as you are. Bring someone or come alone. No background needed. Just a willingness to pause, listen, and settle into a moment of peace.

Ginalina’s music and written books have been featured on CBC, CBC Kids, Canadian Geographic, Radio Canada, Cabin Radio, and BC Kids’ Knowledge Network. Her multiple albums, which focus on nature, community, and timeless themes of love and kindness, have received four Juno nominations and two Western Canadian Music Awards. ginalinamusic.com

Rave Reviews for Jasmine Jazz from our Audience

“I heard Jasmine Jazz perform at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden last February and I didn’t know I could feel so seen as a Chinese Canadian. Unique arrangements, homage to tradition, and literally the best musicians of these instruments. Zhongxi Wu is a fourth-generation suona player - what craft have you carried forward from your great-grandparents?! Seriously so cool. Regardless of your background, if you’re a fan of different musical traditions, go go go!"
